What is Aikido?

Aikido is a Japanese Martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba. He was mostly referred to as O’Sensei which means great teacher. Aikido is a non competitive traditional martial art. The art is based on movement and connection. This school follows the teachings of Patricia Hendricks Sensei as she learned from her teacher Morihiro Saito Sensei in Iwama, Japan. We train our bodies and our minds to be prepared for daily life. Aikido can be whatever you want it to be. It can be self defense, spiritual practice, exercise or just a way to connect to Japanese culture. How ever you wish to train you should train with intent and with a serious attitude. You should also have fun and enjoy training.

In this style of aikido weapons or bukiwaza are emphasized and trained on a regular basis.
